After earning a degree in agriculture
at the University of Turin, Donato Lanati specialized in viticulture
and enology at the school led by Prof.Italo Eynard and started his
working days at Cocchi, a producer of Asti, and then at the Social
Cooperative of Montemagno.
Simultaneously, he began the undertaking of a courageous
path in the realm of enological research in small laboratories until
1990, when he founded Enosis, the first and innovative structure
devoted to in depth analyses of native grape varieties, in a small
building at Cuccaro Monferrato.
Twelve years now a Professor of Enological Technology
at the University of Turin, he is also actively busy as a consulting
enologist for both national and international wine estates, public
institutions, distributors, and universities. Since 2005, he is
the director of Enosis Meraviglia, the Research and Service Center
in Enology and Viticulture inaugurated that year in Fubine (Alessandria).
