Donato Lanati
Donato Lanati was born more than once. The first time was in Voghera,
in 1953. He was reborn eight years later, when his family moved
to Cuccaro Monferrato. The natural symbiotic interaction between
his genes and the Piedmontese land allowed him to grow strong, setting
down roots first at the Enology School of Alba and later at the
Agriculture Faculty of Turin. Later he became Professor of Technological
Enology at the same University and a world reknowned consulting
enologist at leading wine estates of Italy and the world. The years
have accentuated his ironic edge and wit as well as his in-your-face
straightforward manner for which he has become famous. Today, just
like his beloved pinot noir, his favourite grape variety, he elaborates
and accumulates each day delicate sensations, precious information,
strong passions that he metabolizes overnight and has them bear
fruit in his everyday work. |
